Vancouver Pastrami Search
I’m in the mood…
…the mood for Pastrami.
But my Google-fu is letting me down and I can find any reliable references online for where to get a good pastrami sandwich in this berg.
So, cleveristas, where do you suggest I go for the best in pastrami goodness? And yes, I will consider corned beef recommendations, but only with an appropriate handicap. Nothing beats pastrami.
I’ll try them all and let you know which are the best.
Travis, check out Solly’s for their hot pastrami on rye. Then you can have some chicken and matzo ball soup while you’re at it! http://www.sollysbagels.com/
Kaplan’s Deli on Alberni. Nothing beats it.
The best I’ve found is on Davie in a little grocery / specialty food shop across the street from the Superstore. I can’t remember the name, but walk down the south side of Davie about 2 blocks west of Thurlow and you’ll find it. You have a choice of fresh wonderful breads, mustards, and you always get a crunchy dill pickle.
I tried Solly’s.
Enh..
The dijon mustard was too strong and the meat was fresh but bland.
Next up: Kaplan’s.
