Post Secondary Institution Update

This isn’t so much creative new content as a stale update of my last post on SFU and Douglas College student governance.

I won’t make you read past the gatefold unless you want all the details: Hattie’s back at SFU, and the Douglas Student Union is in receivership.

Hattie Aitken was restored to her position at SFU shortly after the impeachment proceedings succeeded. That’s a good thing.

Then Douglas College’s Student Union was forced into receivership, essentially because their audit documents for the last two years still weren’t ready. Weirdly, that immediately puts the DSU on much sounder footing, since the college then released previously-witheld student fees to the DSU, which makes them, more or less, not insolvent.

And while I never really covered the Kwantlen College mess in detail, I would point you towards this post in medias res, or…heck, just check out the whole Kwantlen thread there.

Yeah, is pretty much the best student-union blog in Canada. Sort of a one-stop shop for student society insanity.
